This sap is hard not soft and sticky. We gather sap from off the ground where the tree dripped its sap and it hardened and some from the tree then gently wash in warm water to clean off debris, there still may be the occasional pine needle or bark. The Pinon Pine isn’t harmed by this gathering. We give thanks to the Piñon Pine Tree for their abundance and generosity before we gather.
