This is 1-Gallon/128oz of highly concentrated Jewelweed Infused Oil I make within an hour of harvesting the fresh, organic plant that grows wild on my farm. Two varieties are available: Fresh Jewelweed infused in Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil or infused in Soybean Oil. Please chose from drop-down menu above. I also have both available in 8 oz, 32 oz and 5-gallon quantities as separate listings. The Jewelweed plant has naturally occurring constituents (saponin) that breaks down the oils in poison ivy, oak and sumac (urushiol) that can prevent the nasty rash if you catch it early enough. Or treat the actual outbreak for quicker healing and fast, wonderful itch relief. Jewelweed has anti-fungal properties for treating eczema, diaper rash, ring worm, athlete’s foot and jock itch. It can also be effective for acne and will soothe insect bites, stinging nettle, scrapes and abrasions. Some are even using it for wrinkles! Jewelweed has been used as a remedy for many of these ailments for hundreds of years. This Jewelweed Infused Oil is excellent to use directly on yourself and for making your own soap, salve, skin care and cosmetic products. Simply replace all or part of the oil in your existing recipe with this oil. 1oz to 4oz per pound is typically used to make soap. I have close to 1-acre of Jewelweed that grows naturally on my farm in shady, moist areas that it thrives in best. It is grown without any human intervention– no chemical fertilizer, pesticide or herbicide– Mother Nature at her best! Most certainly organic although not formally certified. Always harvested by hand, made in small batches and non irradiated. Because I have access to so much of this charming plant I use much more to make the infused oil than is specified in any recipe I’ve seen. I completely fill a pot with just harvested Jewelweed, then pour the oil over it until pot is full and let it infuse the oil on very low heat for at least two days (see picture). This results in a 3:1 ratio of oil to plant material. I really enjoy making it and especially enjoy when I hear back from people telling me how much it helped them. To help prevent a rash, apply liberally to exposed skin before possible exposure to poison ivy, oak and sumac. After exposure, wash the exposed areas with soap and water when possible and then apply on affected area. For all other outbreaks, skin irritations and blemishes; simply apply to affected areas. Most often you will feel relief within minutes. This item has NOT BEEN EVALUATED BY THE FDA and is not intended to cure diseases or to replace the advice of medical professionals. I will custom package for you. Please contact me with any requests. Please see my other listings for: Fresh Jewelweed (approximately July-Sept), Air Dried Jewelweed, Jewelweed Salve and other sizes of Jewelweed Infused Oil, all available in soybean oil or organic extra virgin olive oil. I also have other wild harvested or organically grown botanical infused oils, salves, tinctures and dried herbs. Thank you for shopping with Bumbling Acres Farm!
