Powered by a choice of 3 AA batteries (NOT included) or a rechargeable 48 Farad Capacitor, along with a voltage booster / regulator. This new and improved power supply method will maintain a constant 9 volts available to the original Beck BT5 circuitry all the way down to about 2 volts remaining in the batteries or capacitors! NB : To install or change the batteries, pry off the cover at the notches with a screwdriver or butter knife. THE CAPACITOR POWERED MODEL. This Model does NOT use any batteries! Power is obtained from a 48 FARAD capacitor. The capacitor can be charged / discharged a million times from ANY standard 5 Volt USB power source. The best of rechargeable batteries are good for 1000 times. There is no need to remove the cover lid as there are no user serviceable parts inside the box. Expected usable time of a fully charged Capacitor is approximately 1 Hour, depending on the amplitude setting and the user’s skin resistance. The charging cable MUST BE removed during usage, for safety reasons, otherwise the cable may be left connected indefinitely to a power source. Typically less than FIVE MINUTES. When charging from when the low power light is lit up… Otherwise recharge time will be typically 15 minutes if capacitors are totally discharged, for instance, the unit left on overnight and the Low Power LED is NOT lit and the unit is dead.
