Description : Oregon Fir Balsam essential oil is a natural oleoresin of the turpentine type. It occurs as a physiological product inside the trunk of Pseudotsuga Taxifolia, the Douglas fir from the mountains of the western Unites States along the Pacific coast. The balsam is collected from felled trees by placing a drum under the end pieces of the trunks, or the balsam which flows from natural wounds is collected by inserting a tube in the wound. The balsam is subsequently strained. Blends well with the following essential oils. Pine, Cedarwood, Benzoin, Lavender, Spruce and Rosemary. Use with caution if pregnant or breast feeding as well as for babies or small children and pets, as it can be toxic in higher doses. May cause irritation to sensitive skin, however it is rare.
