Benzoin essential oil is prepared from the crude using solvent extraction. It is an amber yellow to reddish-brown color with a sweet balsamic aroma. Catarrh and Bronchitis: Add 5 drops of Benzoin essential oil to a large bowl of steaming water and inhale the vapors. Cover the head with a towel to gain the full effect. Itchy skin: Add 5 drops of Benzoin essential oil to 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and rub gently into the affected area. 2 drops of German Chamomile can be added to the blend if desired. Blends well with the following essential oils: Sandalwood, Rose, Jasmine, Frankincense, Myrrh, Cypress, Juniper, Lemon, Coriander and other spice oils.
