LOURDES WATER, STRAIGHT FROM THE HOLY SOURCE IN FRANCE. The location of the spring of this powerful water was described to Bernadette Soubirous during one of the 18 apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes in 1858. The water is also often referred to as “Lourdes Holy Water” or “Miraculous Water”. “Go and drink at the well” is Mary’s invitation to Bernadette during the 9th apparition on February 25, 1858. Bernadette scrapes the earth and reveals the well from which we still can drink today. Though there are many healings associated with it, it is neither sacred nor miraculous. It is God who heals through the intercession of the Virgin Mary and the prayer of Christians. Bernadette herself said, This water would have no virtue without faith.
